Overview
The Ausangate Climb – 6,384 m Summit Expedition is a high-altitude adventure designed for experienced trekkers and mountaineers looking to conquer one of the most sacred and spectacular peaks in the Peruvian Andes. Starting from Cusco, this multi-day program includes a carefully planned acclimatization ascent to Nevado Jampa (5,500 m) — a non-technical climb ideal for preparing your body for the higher elevation of Ausangate.
From Pacchanta, you’ll trek through stunning Andean landscapes, glacial lagoons, and traditional highland communities. After summiting Jampa, the route continues toward the Ausangate base camp, where you’ll rest and prepare for the summit push. The ascent to the Ausangate summit (6,384 m) is challenging and rewarding, offering panoramic views of endless peaks, hanging glaciers, and the Vilcanota range. The climb is guided by certified high-mountain guides and supported by porters, cooks, and donkeys.
To conclude your expedition, the final day includes a visit to the famous Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) — a colorful and symbolic place that perfectly closes this Andean journey.
This tour combines serious mountaineering with cultural immersion, nature, and a strategic progression for altitude success.
