Overview
The Jampa Climb – 5,500 m Easy Mountain Expedition is an ideal adventure for those looking to summit a high Andean peak without technical difficulty. Located in the Ausangate region, Nevado Jampa is one of the most accessible 5,000+ meter mountains in southern Peru — making it perfect for beginners and trekkers wanting to push their limits in a safe, rewarding environment.
The journey begins in Pacchanta, a highland village known for its hot springs and views of the Vilcanota range. From here, you’ll hike gradually through remote valleys, alpaca herds, and glacial terrain toward base camp, set at approximately 5,000 meters. On summit day, you’ll start early and ascend to the top of Nevado Jampa (5,500 m) with the help of certified mountain guides.
Unlike other peaks in the region, Jampa does not require technical climbing. With proper acclimatization and moderate fitness, the summit is achievable for most active travelers. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with 360° views of Ausangate, Callangate, and Sibinacocha — a panorama few get to see.
This expedition includes full logistical support: transport, camping equipment, meals, and professional guides — allowing you to enjoy your first Andean summit in comfort and safety.
